The W Kowloon – Paying it Forward

In November, Karen stayed at the W San Francisco and put on an event there. The hotel, staff and experience was so remarkable that she sent a note to the general manager complimenting the W. She had met the general manager on her visit when he found her looking lost (note a theme here) in the hotel and personally escorted her to the business center and helped her ship a package. The GM asked Karen to post her note on Trip Advisor (check it out under “W is for Wow”). In her note, Karen mentioned that the experience at the W San Francisco had convinced us to book at the W Kowloon.

The GM in San Francisco sent a note to the GM in Kowloon about the arrival of some very special guests. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk warmly welcomed us and said she understood that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the W wanted to show us a good time. She asked another woman, Obie, to show us to our suite (!).

Upon entering the suite, you walk down the foyer to the living room with a console sofa, flat screen television and desk.

The bedroom is through a set of double doors, and includes a walk-in closet, flat screen television and Bang+Olufson sound system. There’s a beautiful etched image of flowers on a purple screen behind the bed.

Both the living room and bedroom have a wall of windows. In the living room, you can see part of HK Harbor and the tunnel leading to it. From the bedroom, the view is of Kowloon’s port and the bridge to Lantau Island.

Off the bedroom is a huge bathroom with double sinks, separate commode area and a shower and bathtub with its own television and waterproof remote control.
Every day is better when it starts with a rain shower from the top and horizontal sprayers from the wall, followed by W slippers and robe.
When we returned from our trip to Stanley on Thursday, we found a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries, a bottle of wine, wine glasses and a note from the GM of the hotel welcoming us and wishing us a happy anniversary. Karen ate them all to spare Eric and his strawberry allergy.
Darned strawberry allergy!!!
On the roof is an outdoor heated infinity pool and Jacuzzi. Karen is planning a dip before we leave.
